Asking for help takes great Courage!

I believe every person and situation is unique. I take into consideration your internal world as well as your external environment. I respect each person’s uniqueness, and therapy is personalized according to each individual’s needs.

I enjoy working with a variety of populations, at different stages and backgrounds. Therefore, I find fulfilment in engaging in a therapeutic relationship.

I believe fear, depressed feelings, post-traumatic stress, constant problems, and many more are all ways of describing natural human responses to adversity and the experience of life. Calling these responses mental and emotional disorders misses the point entirely. While in some instances they may be classified as disorders, it must be done with great care and compassion. We are all unique, and we all face adversity in different ways through challenging events and circumstances. The effects, if destructive, are physical and emotional warning signals telling us that something needs to be faced and dealt with. The pain, which is very real, is a sign that something is wrong. Mental health struggles are not your identity—they are normal and need to be addressed, not suppressed, or things will worsen.

Each individual has a complex story and has had unique experiences. You are uniquely and wonderfully you, and your quest for optimal well-being should be just as singular as you. I believe it’s essential to impart sustainable knowledge. Over my 20 years of practice, I’ve realized the importance of teaching how to apply information so that long-term changes can be experienced. We are unique individuals with desires and passions. Here is where the change in your life happens—events and circumstances can’t be 100% controlled, but we can control our reactions to them.
In a timeframe agreed upon between myself and my client, I will share knowledge and teach how to apply it for long-term changes, creating a safe space for you to return to. How does that sound, a transition from receiving great information to applying it—having the ability to use advice and information and experiencing its effects, living those effects.
If our minds are chaotic, it affects our lifestyles, and when our lifestyles are disrupted, our mental and physical health suffers. The answer lies within you. You haven’t caused all your problems—empower yourself and change.

When you are in the midst of unbearable emotional or physical pain, it is only by going through the process of embracing and interacting with our pain that we learn how to manage it and eventually move forward. Through embracing and reconceptualizing your mental distress, you can learn to manage your way through tough times.
I believe in gentleness, kindness, and compassion for each other as well as ourselves. My clients experience significant, meaningful physical, and behavioural long-term changes. With 20 years spent in private practice, I have extensive experience in the field of Psychology.
